suck it up

Q and I are seconds away from arriving at the place we like to call 'sorry, we're saving'. Our South American adventure approaches, like Gandalf at dawn on the fifth day.

We are poised to solemnly swear our undertaking to spend no money but that which is related to our subsistence and survival.

This pact will soon be sworn in blood as we bury our cashy cards in the backyard compost beneath the light of the rising gibbous moon.

Any day now, we will go back to the simple life, involving baked beans, DVDs, cheap whiskey, potluck dinners and of course surfing.

The only things we have to do before we really pull it in is

July: snowboarding weekend - $705
August: club lounge + crystal cabinet - $2800
September: tori amos airfares + surfboard flight cases - $800
October: wisdom teeth extraction - $500
November: new zealand mini-holiday - $4000

Then after that, we promise, we will start saving.
