Inner space oddity

i woke up this morning thinking aloud... 'What was the name of that movie where the people were shrunken and sent through the human body?' Q (bless) conjured 'Inner Space' before the thinking got too hard.
so anyway, inner space, useful concept to explain my night's sleep.
i had my normal strange dreams. but in between them I kept bolting awake and having memories. memories I have long forgotten. and then I had to talk my brain back to sleep, to resume normal (strange) broadcast.
2 examples...
- i woke up remembering a skin rash, that was attached to the lower back of a neurotic border collie called Kazza, who belonged to a neurotic ex of mine (94 vintage). the specific memory i had was that Kazza (which is not short for Karen) needed daily applications of some cream or other, which required the applier to wear latex gloves. SO, latex gloves, rash, dogs behind.
- i woke up remembering a class talk i gave in year 8 that was about vampires. i have not thought about this for nearly 20 years i'd wager... but there it was as if it was yesterday. explaing to the class about vampire mythology (albeit mostly concerned the flawed 'lost boys' type) and history. we got to choose our topic. one girl in my class did a talk on pimples. SO I was woken by the lost memory of a talk about vampires, before Slayers ever existed.

it was as if i had been shrunken and injected into my own head to be battered around amongst the dreams and repeatedly being washed up on the crashing shore of random solid memories. So weird.
